University of Kansas to use StatMonitr in 2012-13

LAWRENCE, KAN. -- Kansas Athletics, Inc. and StatBroadcast Systems reached agreement today to use the StatMonitr media stats system at all University of Kansas home events in 2012-13.

The University of Kansas, known as KU, is a public research university located in Lawrence, Kansas, and is the largest university in the state with an enrollment of over 20,000. Established in 1865, KU ranks in the top 20 of the most popular universities in the US. The Kansas Jayhawks sponsor 16 varsity sports at the NCAA Division I level and belong to the Big 12 Conference. KU has won ten Division I championships and 162 conference championships.

The KU men's basketball team is one of the most storied in the nation, having won or shared an NCAA record 55 conference championships since 1907. The Jayhawks have won 12 of 16 conference championships since the Big 12 formed in 1996-97, including the last eight straight, appeared in 13 Final Fours, including last year's championship game in New Orleans, and have won three Division I championships, most recently in 2008; KU also appeared in the 2008 Orange Bowl, setting a record for the most combined wins by a football and basketball program in one year by an NCAA Division I program (49) and joining Florida as the only other program to win a BCS Bowl game and a Basketball National Championship in the same season.
